Another family of idiots have been spotted in Arizona. Unfortunately, the Arizona Republic has refused to identify the family for fear of embarrassing their stupid daughter who barely graduated high school. The brain-trust and her parents threatened a lawsuit unless an English teacher would agree to let Princess Knuckledragger retake a test that she had failed weeks earlier.

Step-mommy goes so far as to say, "There are a lot of different reasons why kids don't test well on a particular day, numerous teachers within the school district allow their students to retest if they get a low test score. As far as I'm concerned, if one allows it, they all should..." While the attorney threatens the teacher with this trash, "Of course, all information regarding your background, your employment records, all of your class records, past and present, dealings with this and other students becomes relevant, should litigation be necessary..."

What a couple of fucking chumps.... These assholes get off on bullying teachers who cannot get support from their weak-kneed principles or Board of Ed. and threaten to conduct some fishing expedition into her background if the dumb-girl doesn't pass.... Whatever.....

Further, the story notes that dumb girl had several additional opportunities to pass the class including the chance to attend an earlier make up session for a final paper. But she couldn't be bothered with that. She had better things to do. And so instead of working diligently to attain a passing grade Lil' Ms. Moron decided that it would be much easier to hire an attorney to threaten her way to graduation.

The teacher responded to Attorney Stan F. Massad's goofy and terribly written threat (replete with "she will be scarred for life... " and "she was ready to graduate and all..." ) with a concise letter indicating that she was not about to pass a student who took no responsibility for her own failures, who plagarized a large portion of a writing assignment, who had several unexcused abscences, and who had been told for over 45 days she was failing...

Regardless of the teacher's attempt to do the right thing and "teach" the student.... the district caved and let dumb-dumb test again. She passed... and graduated without incident..... It is a fucked up state of affairs when teachers cannot get the support they deserve from their administrators and the BoE folds anytime it is faced with adversity.... seriously, fuck the parents and fuck the stupid chick.... tough shit kid.... call it a lesson and take some summer school... maybe it will teach you a bit about responsibility....

(and on an aside fuck Stan Massad... any attorney who will accept a crap case like this is an asshole.... and his inability to write a clear and coherent letter to the instructor indicates his level of stupidity as well..... sadly I have not found his email anywher online so I can tell him how I feel about this case and about his choice to accept it.... anyway, off my soapbox for now..... )

In what can be classified as one of the most ridiculous uses of government or police power I have seen in ages, a police officer in Frontenac, Missouri recently issued a court summons to a teenager who sold him a $3 Pez dispenser. The "undercover" officer managed to "sneak" into the Frontenac Hilton where Pez fans had begun preparations for their upcoming Pez Conference. Posing as an interested consumer, the officer organized his own mini-sting of the suspect for "selling merchandise without a license."

Well golly-damn, I will now feel safe whenever I visit Frontenac. The police in this small town have spoken loud and clear that no unscrupuolous vendor will have the opportunity to swindle the residents or visitors here. Thank heavens that government is looking out for us, without them to inspect our Pez dealers I am sure some of us would eventually get "taken." It's just like City Attorney Chet Pleban says, "It doesn't matter what they are selling - diamond rings or Pez dispensers, we want to make sure everyone follows the law, and we know who comes into our town."

Damn straight Chet... but could I suggest you send the officers to check on the guys selling the illegal narcotics down the street first.... I'd be willing to bet they don't have a license either....

Thirty bucks and change.... that's the amount ($30.17 to be exact) that has caused the home of Greg Akens to go into foreclosure. Due to some ridiculously rigid laws and the inability of the County Treasurer to say anything other than "we followed procedure..." Mr. Aken will now likely be filing suit against Montegomery County in an attempt to keep his property.

In a nutshell, here's the story:

-Mr Aken owns a home and his property taxes are paid by his mortgage company.
-In 1997 the mortgage company paid the tax bill sent by the Treasurer's office.
-The Treasurer's office then sent a second bill which included a new library tax that was not assessed in the original bill as the forms were not ready for mailing in time.
-The mortgage company, under the instruction of Mr. Aken, paid the $275 library tax.
-The Treasurer's office took an extended Christmas vacation and subsequently received the payment in January.
-Since the payment was due in December, the county assessed a delinquent fee and has been adding interest ever since - now totaling $30.17.
-Mr. Aken and the mortgage company never paid the $30 and claim they never received the bill to pay.
-Mr. Aken has offered to pay the $30 to end the process, but the county "has followed guidelines" and so Mr. Aken is SOL.

Man I love bureaucracy.... so effective and useful for the taxpayer who supports it.....

Another article I thought was fairly timely today as GW considers a new uber-FBI.... it details FBI misconduct in CA in the 60s when they basically spread rumors, and actively worked to forment discord in the UC system and to attack then UC President Charles Kerr. Simply, under the guise of a legitimate inquiry for a white house appointment the FBI ran roughshod over the rights of the UC president and hid the details from public view for nearly 30 years after his original FOIA request. It took five federal judges to compel the FBI to recently release the documents that essentially noted that they conspired against the presidet to assure his demise.
